Privacy Policy

Account information — When you sign up, we collect your name, email address, and authentication credentials via Clerk, our identity provider.

Trip data — Everything you enter into MagicTripz (destinations, dates, expenses, itineraries, journal entries, packing lists) is stored in your account and associated only with you.

Usage data — We may collect anonymised analytics such as page views and feature interactions to improve the product. We do not sell this data.

To provide and maintain the MagicTripz service.

To sync your trip data across devices.

To send transactional emails (e.g. account verification). We do not send marketing emails without your explicit consent.

To improve features based on aggregated, anonymised usage patterns.

Clerk — Handles authentication and identity management. Your login credentials are managed entirely by Clerk and never stored directly by MagicTripz.

Supabase — Provides our database infrastructure. Trip data is stored in Supabase's cloud, hosted on AWS.

Anthropic Claude — Powers the AI Itinerary Builder. When you generate an itinerary, your trip details (destination, dates, preferences) are sent to Anthropic's API to produce results. No personally identifiable information is retained by Anthropic beyond the scope of a single request.

Wikimedia — Cover images are fetched from Wikimedia Commons via their public API. No personal data is shared.

Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all associated trip data is permanently removed from our systems within 30 days.

You may export your trip data at any time using the CSV export feature on the Expenses page.

We use strictly necessary cookies to maintain your session and authentication state. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.

You have the right to access, correct, or delete any personal data we hold about you. To make a request, contact us at the email below.

If you are located in the European Economic Area, you have additional rights under the GDPR, including the right to data portability and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting a notice on the app or sending an email to your registered address. Continued use of MagicTripz after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
